Sandra Sasaki is the Community Action Plan for Children Parenting Coordinator for the Northern Family Heath Society’s Healthiest Babies Possible Program. Born in Creston, Sandra moved to Prince George as a small child and has lived there ever since. She lives with her husband, and they have three grown daughters and eight grandchildren.

Sandra started working with Healthiest Babies Possible because of her love of working with women and their families. She is inspired by women and the empowerment that comes from the natural birth process.

The Northern Family Health Society is committed to providing individuals and families with professional assistance including information about healthy choices regarding child birth and development, a safe environment for personal development and the tools to make positive changes that strengthen family and community relationships. The Healthiest Babies Possible program works to provide education, support and health services to prenatal women and their families.

The organization is located at 2666 Queensway in Prince George and they can be reached at 250-561-2689.

The Northern Family Health Society provides a variety of support services to parents in the community ranging from prenatal support to other areas such as drug abuse or social connections. They offer a variety of programs including: Parent Support Circle on Mondays from 11:30-1:30, Special Delivery Club Wednesdays 11:30-1:30, Prenatal Classes first three Tuesdays of every month 11:30-1:30. They also offer home visits and baby showers for parents who are unable to arrange them on their own.

They are always looking for volunteers who can help with the “Baby Boutique” child minding and the baby shower events they run. In addition, they welcome donations of food, baby clothes and larger items such as cribs and strollers. Those interested in getting involved can call 250-561-2689 or visit the Northern Family Health Society’s website at www.nfhs-pg.org.
