Jacob Madjitey is the President of the Prince George African Heritage Society (PGAHS). He was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa and has been living in Prince George for 17 years. Jacob and his wife Maureen have a son named Alex.

Being a part of PGAHS has provided Jacob with the opportunity to work with various organizations in aiding Africa, as well as highlighting the contributions that people with African heritage have made to British Columbia and Canada.

The PGAHS is a chapter of the African Heritage Society (AHS) which is a pan-African, non-profit organization that aims to put Africa and its interests at the center of business strategy. The Prince George chapter serves as an initial social network for new immigrants and residents who are originally from Africa. PGAHS is interested in working with organizations that provide humanitarian services and development work in Africa. Their mission is to build a strong African community in Prince George and northern British Columbia.

The organization currently does not have an office but for further information on how to get involved or any other questions, please contact Jacob Madjitey at 250-640-3651 or George Kaweesi at 250-562-2131 ext. 5518.
