Bryan Grant is the Operations Manager for the Drug Awareness Recovery Team (DART). Bryan was born in Williams Lake and lived in both Kelowna and Red Deer, Alberta before making his home in Prince George this past year. He is married to his wife Natalie and has two boys: Ranon, three and a half years old and Ehzra, 18 months.
Bryan joined DART because he loves the relationships he has built with his fellow members and those people the organization helps. He feels it is important to do something to positively assist people and to serve the best he can. Bryan feels great satisfaction in helping those in need find their potential and self-worth.
The mandate of DART, established by its founder Bob Scott, is to support recovering drug addicts and alcoholics who are new to recovery, providing them with an environment to help integrate them into the community. DART works in collaboration with the Prince George City Church and in partnership with other recovery agencies in the local area, focusing on providing a full continuum of care for those who want it.
The organization’s offices are located at 1122 7th Avenue. To find out more about the services offered, contact DART at (250) 563-6311.
DART offers employment opportunities to those in recovery and helps to provide the tools for success, including: building resumes, research into proper housing and job recommendations. It is also a resource hub for those people looking for direction in their lives.
The organization has also expanded into exciting new community projects. DART has been awarded city contracts to maintain local infrastructure, such as the Heritage Trails and the "Welcome to Prince George" signs. The organization is hoping in the next year to start a new landscaping branch. Through local support, DART will be able to help more of those in need.
