" One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his good deed. "

Prov19:17

Diane Boudreau is the Director of Operations for the New Life Centre. Diane was born in Penny, B.C. but has made Prince George her home for the past 40 years. She is single and has two adult children: her son (29), who lives in Northern Alberta, and her daughter (33) who lives in Prince George with her husband and three children, Diane’s grandchildren.

She has been involved with the Life Centre ministry for about 22 years because she loves working with people. Diane enjoys the opportunity to comfort, encourage and love people who are broken-hearted, abused and often rejected by mainstream society.

The mission of the New Life Centre is to reach out to the people of the Prince George inner city through compassion. The organization provides care wherever it can by feeding the hungry, comforting the despairing, encouraging the lonely and praying for the sick.

The centre is now located at 1164 Third Avenue, after making their home on Dominion Street for the passed 27 years.

The New Life Centre is in the final stages of completing renovations to their new Outreach Centre. The purpose of the centre is to be a place of hope and caring. They would like to encourage other user groups providing services, such as drug/alcohol addiction counselling and life skills training, to make use of the facility. They want to see this building used 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Current services include a Drop-In Centre, Monday to Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., for coffee, goodies, games, videos, friendship and a place to belong. There is also a Saturday night worship service from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a hot meal, coffee, music and prayer which many different churches participate in, weekly. On June 21, 2008, the New Life Centre will have a grand opening for their new ground level opening that will be accessible for persons with disabilities.

To get involved with the centre, first drop in and meet people to get a feel for whether or not you would want to commit to serving in some capacity. Or, if you’d like to donate, contributions can be brought in or mailed to the Christian Life Centre at 1164 Third Avenue Prince George, B.C. V2L 3E5 - Attn: Diane Boudreau. The centre is supported solely through private donations from individuals and churches.
