Terry Fehr is a Reserve Constable with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and a Commissionaire at the airport, library and social service office. Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, he’s lived in Prince George for the past 15 years. Terry and his wife Lori, a nurse, have four children between the ages of 21-27. Terry says he likes being involved in community policing because he enjoys being a part of the effort to help people and communities grow and succeed. Terry was previously a full-time RCMP officer.
The goal of community policing is to bring “small-town policing” where everyone plays a role in protecting their community to the big city. Located at 575 Brunswick Street, Terry provides downtown foot patrol policing for the RCMP and general security for the airport, library and social service office.
The presence of a uniform on the street is often enough to deter mischief, and Terry is particularly effective because he knows so many people in the community. Terry also has a reputation of assisting people by helping to carry packages or opening doors for people. He also checks in with stores to make sure everything is going well.
Terry says the best way to get involved is to contact the Prince George Airport or your local police office to help out. He also suggests joining your local Block Watch.
