Carole Whitmer is one of the founders of the Emergency Dental Outreach Clinic (formerly known as the Pain Control Dental Clinic). She would like to thank all of the clinic’s partners and volunteers for their commitment and hard work.
The mission of the clinic is to provide pain relief and preventative services to low-income individuals who would otherwise not receive dental care. The clinic is located in the basement of the Native Friendship Centre at 1600 3rd Avenue and can also be reached by calling 613-7246.
The clinic is a partnership between Northern Health, the Friendship Centre and volunteers from the Prince George dental community. Dental hygienist students from the College of New Caledonia also visit the clinic as part of the Community Health course.
The provincial government has provided $61,000 to help open the clinic and purchase equipment.
Twice a year for two-week periods, the clinic provides restorative services for referred clients in partnership with the UBC Dental Residence program.
The organization accepts donations and is always looking for dental professionals to volunteer. Interested parties can call Penny at 613-7246 or e-mail Carole at
